From childhood, SON KYUNG HEE has naturally embraced the humble beauty of Korean sentiment, expressing it through her ceramics. Inspired by traditional folk flower-and-bird paintings (hwa-jo-hwa) and patterns cherished by common people, she brings these motifs to life in three-dimensional forms on white porcelain.
Using an embossed technique, her delicate designs of flowers, butterflies, and birds seamlessly blend without visible borders. Colored and fired with traditional mineral pigments, her vessels convey a gentle spirit and soft elegance.
Her work reflects the graceful dignity of Joseon-era women—simple, pure, and subtly vibrant with life.
